Beehive Coke Oven Project Dunbar Pennsylvania - Part 1
This is the start of construction of a Beehive Coke Oven, a historical part of the Coal & Coke Heritage of Fayette County PA, and the HC Frick Coke Company, which supplied Coke to Carnegie and US Steel from the late 1800's until 1972. We are constructing the oven with never used original materials, recently unearthed in a bank of abandoned coke ovens near Uniontown, PA. This will document the progress from obtaining to total construction. This is the beginning July 9, 2008.
