Abandoned Beehive Coke Ovens

Here are some of the oldest coke ovens in existence in western Pennsylvania. Located off Ranch Rd near Dunbar, this three bank set of ovens totaled 136 at one point. The original ovens went in in 1875 and were out of production by 1930. An added bonus, see the difference between coal and coke! |
